1. Who developed coverUPS®?
The founders of coverUPS® are Forensic Architects with a combined experience of over 60 years in the field. We are consistently involved with the evaluation of commercial and residential property losses throughout the western hemisphere.
2. Where are coverUPS® made?
The coverUPS® company is incorporated in the United States. The product was designed, documented, specified and tested domestically. The product is made and packaged at our state of the art manufacturing facility in Beijing, China. We are also currently developing a domestic production supply chain within the continental United States.
3. Does the coverUPS® touch the sprinkler assembly or escutcheon plate?
No. The mounting ring is slightly larger than the escutcheon plate. The cover itself does not come in contact with any part of the sprinkler assembly.
4. Will coverUPS® affect the performance of our sprinklers?
No. The testing information provided explains this in greater detail.
5. Who installs coverUPS®?
Your maintenance staff. A full installation for a two hundred room hotel can be completed in one working day.
6. How are coverUPS® installed?
Adhesive on the mounting ring is exposed and then the ring is placed directly on the wall or ceiling surface. The cover then attaches to the ring magnetically. No special tools are required and installation is permanent. Video instructions are available on the installation section of the website.
7. Are coverUPS® reusable?
Yes. In the event of a fire, repairs to room finishes can be executed
and the original coverUPS® may be re-installed.
8. What types of sprinkler heads do coverUPS® work with?
coverUPS® may be used with either sidewall or ceiling mounted (pendant type) exposed sprinklers.
